You then swipe independently — your partner does not see your choices in real time. Whenever both of you swipe right on the same title, a match notification appears instantly. All shared matches are collected in your Duo Matches list, which both users can access from their account page. This eliminates the classic "what do you want to watch?" debate — MatchMyCouch does the decision-making for you. Duo Mode requires a Premium subscription (€2.99/month) for at least one of the two users.

Every time you swipe right on a title, it gets saved to your personal watchlist automatically. You can access your watchlist at any time from your account page — no need to remember what you liked while swiping. The watchlist shows the poster, title, year, genre, and rating for each saved item. If you accidentally swiped right on something, you can remove it directly from the watchlist with one tap. The streaming provider logos on each card show which services currently offer that title in your selected country. This includes major platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, Max, Paramount+, and many more — depending on your country's availability. Tap the ℹ️ button on any card to open the detail view, which lists all available streaming options with direct links. The data is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB) and is updated regularly, but availability can change at any time as licensing deals shift. MatchMyCouch always shows the most current data available at the time of your swipe. If a title is not currently available on any streaming service in your country, this is clearly indicated on the card.

The free version includes unlimited swiping, full filter access (genre, release year, rating, content type), streaming provider info, and a personal watchlist. The free tier is ad-supported, meaning banner or interstitial ads may appear while you swipe. Premium (€2.99/month) removes all ads entirely for an uninterrupted experience and additionally unlocks Duo Mode — the feature that lets you and a partner find movies you both want to watch. There are no hidden fees, no trial periods that auto-renew without warning, and no content locked behind paywalls other than Duo Mode. You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account page.

You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time directly from your account page — no need to contact support. After cancellation, your Premium features (ad-free experience and Duo Mode) remain active until the end of the current billing period. Once the period expires, your account automatically reverts to the free tier. No refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period. There are no cancellation fees. If you cancel and later decide to resubscribe, you can do so at any time and your previous settings and watchlist will still be there. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. You will receive an email confirmation for every charge.

The catalogue includes movies, TV series, mini-series, and documentaries. Popular titles include Oppenheimer, Inception, Parasite, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Breaking Bad, Stranger Things, Dark, Squid Game, and Wednesday — just to name a few. New releases are added continuously as TMDB is updated. The filter system lets you focus on specific genres like Action, Comedy, Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi, Romance, Thriller, or Documentary, and you can filter by release year and minimum rating to find exactly what you are in the mood for.
